The Experience
This three-night tour serves as an opportunity to discover the charm of Sri Lanka and its highlights surrounded by lush tropical forest and vividly green tea plantations. Globetrotters will have a chance to meet baby elephants at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, see the indigenous flora while visiting local gardens, enjoy a dance show and explore cultural sites of Colombo. Visits to the batik factory and gem lapidary will provide more insight into traditional crafts techniques.
During the trip, travellers can stay in conveniently located hotels. The four star Hotel Ozo Kandy Sri Lanka awaits guests minutes away from the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and boasts modern interiors, rooftop lounge with scenic views, and air-conditioned rooms with TVs. The Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrive at the airport and be transferred to Kandy; visit The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en-route, discover a spice garden in Mawanella and spend the rest of the day at leisure; overnight stay in Kandy
- Day 2: After breakfast, discover an array of plants at the Peradeniya Botanical Garden and head to the Batik Factory; visit Gem Lapidary and proceed to the Upper Lake Drive and the Market Square; in the afternoon, enjoy a traditional cultural dance; return to the hotel for an overnight stay
- Day 3: After breakfast, head to Colombo; upon arrival, enjoy a short city tour of the city and visit the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall; see The Independence Square, the Old Parliament of Sri Lanka and the Galle Face Green facing the Indian Ocean; spend some time shopping and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure
- Day 4: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and be transferred to the airport for the flight back
