The Experience
Explore Vietnam’s historic northern provinces with a guided tour to Hanoi and Halong Bay, with an option to upgrade the experience with a trip to Sapa, Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, and Ta Van. Behold remarkable centuries-old sites, sample delicious Vietnamese cuisine made by the locals, kayak through treasured stretches of water, fish for exotic squid, and learn about the local culture from an English-speaking tour guide.
During a three-night tour, travellers will spend three nights in Hanoi Legacy Hotel and one night on a cruise boat. Those choosing a seven-night tour will be accommodated in Hanoi Legacy Hotel in Hanoi and Fansipan View Hotel in Sapa, and spend one night on a cruise boat.
Itinerary
Three-Night Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi, transfer to the hotel and an overnight stay
Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise: Head to Halong Bay to board a cruise; enjoy lunch on board while passing by the limestone islands, explore Sung Sot Cave and kayak around Drum Cave area; party on the sundeck in the evening and have dinner followed by socialising, board games, squid fishing, or leisure time (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 3: Cruise – Halong Bay – Hanoi: Start the day with a tai-chi lesson or a photo hunt, followed by breakfast; cruise to the Natural Preservation Zone, then kayak around to explore the area, visit a floating house and learn more about the local fishermen’s daily life; continue the cruise and enjoy fruit carving demonstration before a traditional Vietnamese lunch aboard; transfer to Hanoi for an overnight stay (breakfast, lunch)
Day 4: Hanoi: Leisure time and transfer to the airport (breakfast)

Day 4: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc – Hanoi: Head to Hoa Lu and take in the picturesque scenery on the way; visit the ancient temples with a guided tour, then enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, board a bamboo boat and cruise down the Hoan Long river to visit Tam Coc (three caves) and local villages; take a bike ride to get to know the local area and head back to Hanoi in a car (breakfast, lunch)
Day 5: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat: Take a tour through a dream-like scenery of mountains and terraced fields to Sapa; after lunch, trek to the Cat Cat village to learn more about the life of the Black H’mong tribe; explore Sapa by night, savour local specialities or go shopping; overnight stay in Sapa (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Day 6: Lao Chai – Ta Van – Muong Hoa Valley – Hanoi: Explore Lao Chai and Ta Van before heading back to Hanoi, check-in to a hotel for an overnight stay (breakfast, lunch)
Day 7: Hanoi: Make the most of some leisure time to explore the city and take part in a street food tour in the afternoon (breakfast, dinner)
Day 8: Hanoi: Transfer to the airport (breakfast)
